Chapter 446: Thorough Extermination

The Growing Brain’s mental power was as powerful as an inescapable net, instantly killing all the Green Plague Bugs within range. The strong souls were destroyed in the same manner as a bulldozer crushing all the insects in its way.

Insects that were smaller than specks of dust fell to the ground collectively. However, the enormous force of Soul Power had no impact on the Queen Bug, as if it had reached a wall. The Queen Bug screamed mournfully and curled its stout body inwards while green blood leaked from its mouth.

The Growing Brain’s attribute was Psychic, not Mental, which was why Gao Peng wasn’t disappointed. It was already surprising that it had performed this well.

The Growing Brain started to panic because it couldn’t take this monster down on its own. Its cerebral cortex reddened, with steam rising from the top.

Pang! The brain of the Green Plague Queen Bug was swollen with pain. In its consciousness, countless illusions appeared, entangling with each other, but the endings all led to death.

The concept of time was blurred in the illusions. The flow of time was controlled by the illusions, extended and stretched in the surreal visions. All the visions came together as one eventually, and its death happened at that moment.

It was proven that psychological suggestion could induce someone to end his or her own life. The presence of the soul and body were relatively independent.

What happened was that innumerable amounts of death suggestions from the visions added together and erupted in that moment. The intensified death suggestions from the visions had filled the Green Plague Queen Bug’s consciousness instantly. ( Boxno vel. co m )

Its stout body tightened, its mouth opened wide, and it was hysterical... Three seconds later, its breathing stopped completely.

So I can also kill an enemy this way!

A huge hole appeared on top of the Growing Brain’s head, and pink mist emerged. This indicated happiness.

All these skills needed to be developed. If there was no one guiding the Growing Brain, the most it could do was envelop its prey in illusions, making them die from hunger and thirst in the desert.

“Maybe we can try brainwashing other monsters. If we can do that to them since they’re young, a Blood Contract will no longer be necessary to control a batch of monsters.” Gao Peng was thinking about the possible capabilities of the Growing Brain.

As for this Green Plague Queen Bug... Gao Peng allowed the Desolate Frost Lion to ice the dead body to prevent the spread of pestilence.

The next step would be to have the Growing Brain rid Hanzhong City of the leftover insects, which was why Gao Peng made it a coat.

In truth, the Growing Brain’s appearance was very creepy. A bare brain floating in the sky would definitely be seen as one of the evil monsters controlled by the bad guys. If this brain were to fly around Hanzhong City, it would be frightening to everyone.

Then... the Growing Brain scanned the cotton candy coat on its body blankly.

What is this? Is this what ‘wearing clothes’ is like in human’s memories? Why does it look different from what I recalled?

“This is a process you must go through. I’d like to call it practice.” Goldie patted the Growing Brain, its eyes firm, while holding a wooden box in its left hand. On its neck was a string of prayer beads. When the sun shone on Goldie, it reflected a ray of warm pale yellow light. The Growing Brain stared at it, dumbfounded.

The Growing Brain looked bizarre when wearing the cotton candy coat. However, it was no longer too creepy to be seen. In fact, it looked kind of adorable. It even looked like a tiny white cloud floating in the sky from afar.

The tiny white cloud was flying, circling around the streets and alleys in Hanzhong City. It used its Psychic power to kill off the lower-tier infectees and Green Plague Bug larvae.

“Mommy, there’s cotton candy in the sky!” One of the kids from the bus was yelling, pointing to the sky.

“It isn’t. Cotton candy can’t fly in the sky. It’s a cloud; only clouds fly in the sky,” said the modest mother sitting beside the girl.

The girl nodded, unsure whether she understood what her mother said. She sucked on her fingers gently, her eyes shining. It seems like there’s someone sitting on top of the cotton candy. I’ll find a cotton candy to be my familiar one day so that when I’m hungry, I can take a bite of it.

“We’re so thankful for your help, but we can’t offer anything in return. If Mr. Gao is willing to invest or set up a branch in our city, we, the Hanzhong base city, will exempt your taxes, but only if you’re willing to come.” The suited man from the Hanzhong Base municipal government department was wearing a dazzling smile.

“Sure. I hope we can work together in the future.” Gao Peng nodded.

Back at the Southern Sky, Da Zi retrieved the small treasure box from Goldie. It opened up the box and became immersed in deep thoughts while staring at the asymmetrical golden red crystal.

The wheel of fortune is finally landing on me this year. It’s about time for me, Da Zi, to be the master.

Wait until I successfully evolve. I’ll become Gao Peng’s strongest familiar. I’ll teach those flirty b*tches a lesson... Oh, forget it. Since they have proper attitudes, let’s not bully them for now.

Why? Because I’m the forgiving Da Zi!

Da Zi’s face was squeezed together, making a serious expression. It started to envision what it would become. Would it be a merciful Da Zi, an evil ruler, or even turn into a crab?

Da Zi lingered on the aftertaste. Its claw couldn’t help but make its way into the box, touching the crystal. It was hard. It licked its claw, but it was tasteless.

Bah, bah. Da Zi walked away, ignoring everybody, towards its own nest.

Climbing down from the back of the White Dragon, Gao Peng was stopped by something on his way towards the mansion.

It had bright red fur smooth like silk and eyes the size of almonds. Both its hands were clasped in front of its body while it squatted beneath Gao Peng.

“What’s wrong, Xiao Hua? You don’t like what you’ve been eating recently?” Gao Peng patted Xiao Hua’s head. Though it wasn’t anyone’s monster in the mansion, it was Dumby’s daughter. It always stayed up in the tree house, seldom making any contact with others, but everyone still loved the little thing.

Xiao Hua shook its head and opened its mouth to speak, but only elicited a sharp cry. It was upset, probably because of its own voice, as its eyes shined with a sense of loss. However, it still mustered up the courage to speak again, this time a bit more gently. “Daddy, where is Daddy?”

Xiao Hua learned how to speak?

Gao Peng didn’t pay much attention to Xiao Hua, which was why he was unsure when Xiao Hua had started speaking in human language.

Gao Peng had no idea how to answer the question, so after some consideration, he said in a soft voice, “Your daddy is temporarily somewhere far away.”

“Daddy doesn’t want me anymore?” Xiao Hua was going to cry. “I’ll listen to him. Can you bring Daddy back?”

“Your daddy will be back soon.” Gao Peng bent over to pick Xiao Hua up. “Come on, let’s go eat something.”
